Thursday, April 28th, 2011

Leah WestJust over a week ago, right here on the Jingle Punks blog, we had the pleasure of announcing the fact that Jingle Punks artist Leah West was a finalist in the BCIMA People’s Choice Awards. At that time she still needed help from “the people” in the form of internet voting and we were proud to the let our artist community know so they could rally around and support a fellow Jingle Punk. Last Saturday, April 23, the BCIMA Awards were held in British Columbia and Leah took home the coveted People’s Choice Award. We want to officially congratulate Leah on her victory and wish her much continued success in the future. We are VERY proud of your win Leah!

Here’s Leah’s Thank You notice and video of her acceptance speech.

Emily Zuzik Featured on Moby’s “Destroyed,” Releasing New Album This Summer

Emily Zuzik

Jingle Punks is proud to announce that JP artist and sought-after singer/songwriter, Emily Zuzik, will be featured on Moby’s new album “Destroyed,” which is set to release May 17, 2011.  Emily is the featured vocalist on the song, “The Low Hum” and received high praise from the multiple Grammy nominated Moby, who states, “Emily’s vocals brought a unique dark and melodic texture to The Low Hum.  I’ve wanted to work with her ever since she auditioned for a rock project I started. She has remarkable talent and passion for all kinds of music. I’m excited to hear her new record.”  Emily, who “mixes the urgent intensity of Ani DiFranco and Tori Amos with the easy cool of Kim Gordon,” (Performing Songwriter Magazine) is poised for a big 2011 in spite of “The Low Hum”. Emily has been making lots of noise in preparation for her soulful rock seventh studio album, “The Wild Joys of Living,” releasing this summer. Her songs have appeared in the CW show Smallville, the Cuba Gooding Jr. film Ticking Clock and the indie film Fifth Form, Erie Insurance jingles, the Blue Man Group Production Saturday Morning Puppet Club, as well as promos for Hormel and Jenn-Air.  Keep an eye and ear out for Emily this year because that ‘low hum’ is just a prelude to the ‘wild joys of living!’

Tru Statement Entertainment Presents: B.E.T.A.

Friday, April 8th, 2011

In promotion for the album B.E.T.A., Jingle Punks artist Tru Statement Ent. has leaked three brand new tracks that will be featured on the album. The most recent track being “Just Rock”, is a bouncy party anthem that maintains a level of cool with an even keeled beat and flow. Of the previous two singles, “Take Your Mask Off” is a dark, aggressive plea for honesty and self realization, while “Make It Last” is a slow, mellow ode to the enjoyment of life’s moments. The contrast in style between each song epitomizes what B.E.T.A. is trying to achieve with their upcoming album Ego & Id; a bi-polar battle between relaxation and intensity, self confidence and distrust. A conceptual album two-part, Ego & Id reflects the dual sides of the human psyche as cited by psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud: the rational (Ego) and the primal (Id). The styles of each side clash, yet manage to complement each other perfectly. The resulting sound is B.E.T.A. Check out their promo video for “Ego” below and listen to their singles here.
