IFP Blog

The Independent Film Project recently had a blog post titled “Music Licensing Cliff Notes for Indie Filmmakers: Understanding the Basics” which mentioned Jingle Punks under the “Affordable Qualtiy Music sources” section. The post, which was written by board member Dolly Turner, touches on a wide variety of topics including budgeting, song ownership, and necessary clearances. It’s a great read and very informative.

Jingle Punks has been pushing further and further into the film world through recent projects like Morgan Spurlock‘s “Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fans Hope” and Michael Dowse‘s “Goon“. We appreciate getting this exposure to IFP’s network and look forward to working more extensively in both the indie and feature film spaces. Be sure to check out the IFP post HERE and contact us if you’re looking for music for your next film!

JP Artists Make ‘Best Covers’ of 2011

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011
Cover Me Blog

Jingle Punks has built a reputation for having some of the BEST pre-cleared indie music available and that reputation was built, in part, thanks to the success of our incredible Artist Community! We don’t see that changing any time soon and we’ve got more proof as to why we’re the best  and it comes from Cover Me Blog’s “Best Cover EPs of 2011″ list. The blog’s annual list features two Jingle Punks artists, Bird Call and Alyson Greenfield, who ranked at #11 and #2 respectively.  Both of their EP’s received high praise (which you can read below) and we’re incredibly happy for their success! Check out the article HERE and be sure to pick up both Alyson and Bird Call’s projects on either Amazon or iTunes.

ESPN Films Premieres “The Marinovich Project”

Friday, December 9th, 2011
The Marinovich Project
Jingle Punks is more than happy to let you know that ESPN Films‘ “The Marinovich Project” – a really special Documentary with a fully scored landscape solely from the Jingle Punks studio, will be premiering this Saturday, December 10 at 10p EST on ESPN. This comes from  Film-makers (and friends) Andrew Stephan and John Dorsey as well as the great folks at ESPN Films. The score traces the nuances, heartbreak and triumph of Todd’s story with a palette that stretches from Neil Young influenced boozy SoCal rock on through to emotional atmospheric soundscapes and everything in between. Give it a watch – it’s excellent.
From birth, Todd Marinovich was raised with a defined purpose of creating the perfect athlete. Trained by his father, Marv, a former pro football player and a strength and conditioning guru, the young Marinovich was meticulously engineered and nurtured into a star quarterback. When it came to performance, Marv expected perfection and Todd delivered. He was dubbed “Robo QB,” and his performance initially lived up to the name as he set passing records in high school, vied for the Heisman while at USC and ultimately was selected in the first round of the 1991 NFL draft by his hometown Los Angeles Raiders. But two years later, he was out of the NFL, a full-blown drug addict in search of a life beyond football. “The Marinovich Project” tells the unvarnished story of Todd’s unique ascent to stardom, the dark descent that followed and the complicated father-son bond throughout, ultimately answering the question “What went wrong with Todd Marinovich?”
