The History Channel juggernaut pushes onward, and Jingle Punks is thrilled to be a part of it all!

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

The most recent success? The Sunday night premiere of Cajun Pawn Stars, the southern-fried debutante that drops the original Pawn Stars’ template right into the heart of alligator country—that is to say, the great state of Louisiana. Jingle Punks is proud to have written and performed the Cajun Pawn Stars theme song.

The premiere’s ‘stellar’ details, via TV By The Numbers: ’3.6 million total viewers, 2.0 million Adults 25-54 and 1.8 million Adults 18-49.’ Talk about a goldmine. Jingle Punks, as always, is psyched to be working with such talented people. Congratulations to all involved!

ESPN Films Premieres “The Marinovich Project”

The Marinovich Project
Jingle Punks is more than happy to let you know that ESPN Films‘ “The Marinovich Project” – a really special Documentary with a fully scored landscape solely from the Jingle Punks studio, will be premiering this Saturday, December 10 at 10p EST on ESPN. This comes from  Film-makers (and friends) Andrew Stephan and John Dorsey as well as the great folks at ESPN Films. The score traces the nuances, heartbreak and triumph of Todd’s story with a palette that stretches from Neil Young influenced boozy SoCal rock on through to emotional atmospheric soundscapes and everything in between. Give it a watch – it’s excellent.
From birth, Todd Marinovich was raised with a defined purpose of creating the perfect athlete. Trained by his father, Marv, a former pro football player and a strength and conditioning guru, the young Marinovich was meticulously engineered and nurtured into a star quarterback. When it came to performance, Marv expected perfection and Todd delivered. He was dubbed “Robo QB,” and his performance initially lived up to the name as he set passing records in high school, vied for the Heisman while at USC and ultimately was selected in the first round of the 1991 NFL draft by his hometown Los Angeles Raiders. But two years later, he was out of the NFL, a full-blown drug addict in search of a life beyond football. “The Marinovich Project” tells the unvarnished story of Todd’s unique ascent to stardom, the dark descent that followed and the complicated father-son bond throughout, ultimately answering the question “What went wrong with Todd Marinovich?”

ESPN’s “Evolution of the Touchdown Dance” Ad

Monday, July 25th, 2011

With the NFL lockout officially over for only minutes, ESPN, as is their custom as the “Worldwide Leader in Sports,” was all over it with the release of their latest viral ad “The Evolution of the Touchdown Dance”. The ad is a part of ESPN’s ongoing “It’s not crazy, it’s sports” campaign and features viral video star, Judson Laipply (The Evolution of Dance 1 & 2), performing 23 end zone celebrations to a Jingle Punks produced soundbed. It was commissioned by the ad agency Weiden + Kennedy and launched on ESPN’s social sites and YouTube channel just minutes after the news broke that the lockout was over. Check it out below.

JINGLE PUNKS SUPPORTS NEW RED CROSS WEBISODIC CAMPAIGN

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Let’s leave the wit and irony on the side for this one and tip our hats to the wonderful team who put together a compelling Earthquake Awareness video for Red Cross called “The Magnitude”. We’re pleased to be able to donate some in-house composed tracks to this project – including the tune for this below trailer:

“Creatine Rage” on Bully Beatdown

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

Add “Soundtrack for Roid Monkeys” to the Jingle Punks repertoire. We crafted a little bit of Rap-Rock parody and fun for MTV’s Bully Beatdown with this track “Creatine Rage”. High-energy montages will never be the same although there’s still the gold standard – courtesy of Joe Esposito in the original Karate Kid as a basis of humble comparison.

Cash & Cari Theme Song

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

A poppy guitar track for the theme of HGTV’s punnily titled “Cash & Cari”? Not a problem. Watch as the guru of ordinary-treasures delivers cash to homeowners from a basement of seemingly worthless junk. If only our boyhood closets didn’t hold worthless baseball cards and Smith’s lyrics penned to high school girlfriends on tear-stained stationary. Sigh.

Jingle Punks Gets Sportsed

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

There are times (not often) when we at Jingle Punks gladly (begrudgingly) admit we’re outclassed in the humor department. This is one of them.

The Onion Sports Network premieres on Comedy Central this Jan. 11th. This tour-de-force of all things sports and all things satire features a bevy of custom-created Jingle Punks tunes that ride the rails between sincerity and parody. Some bombastic strings, a bit of overindulgent graphic sound design and the best our in-house composing team has to offer is something we’re darn proud of. And it’s something we’re damn excited to watch.

Check out this video with the Jingle Punks crafted theme song on the end and please accept the below emoticons as the best we can do to compete with masters-of-satire The Onion and their first foray onto the Comedy Central airwaves. :0 :9 :0 ;;)

Jingle Punks + History Channel + Bret Michaels + Cars = Most awesome show launch ever!

Friday, November 19th, 2010

The cat is officially out of the bag on this. Yes. We wrote a kickass song for our new friend Bret to sing on. Yes. History Channel let us make a sick video to document the making of this song…and yes. This is all for the mega launch of Top Gear USA.

The track is currently being used in the show’s promotional spot. The show will premiere this Sunday night 11/21 at 10pm ET on History (don’t miss it!!!). Everyone is buzzing about this promo campaign including the NY Times and Billboard. Big big thanks to Krista at History, Janna and Jo from Bret’s team and of course Bret who is without a doubt still one of the biggest badasses in rock n roll today.

Here a few links to the media coverage in the NY TIMES and BILLBOARD .
