The Food Network kicked off 2012 with the premiere of their latest series “Rachel vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off“. The first episode aired on Sunday night at it’s regular time of 9p EST/8p CST and featured music from Jingle Punks. The show is hosted by celebrity chefs, and team captains, Rachel Ray and Guy Fieri who compete via their teams to see who is the best cooking mentor. The winning celebrity team member will also receive $50,000 toward the charity of their choice. Jingle Punks has some great news. Our first venture with the MTV News and Docs department was an awesome show called Engaged & Underage. We serviced 15 ep’s of this series with music and also provided custom elements that will reccur in every single episode. This series premieres V day (7 pm EST) and I will post a clip of this shortly.
In other MTV news it should be noted that we will also be featured in Johnny Knoxville’s new show called “Nitro Circus“. This show is truly crazy and features some of the sickest stunts ever aired on TV . Nitro Circus will premiere on MTV Sunday February 8th, at 10:00 ET/PT and will contiuntue to fill the 10:00PM slot every sunday
As if this news wasn’t enough to blow our minds, we have even more news to report. Z Rock, which is a hilarious scripted series on IFC has opted to use the Jingle Player to support their prodcution. I can’t wait for this to air, because I am a fan of the show and love the concept. We feel very lucky to be part of all these projects and look forward to announcing more great shows as the year goes on.
After 8 years of composing music for TV, film and commercial projects I have finally found time to do what I said I would from the beginning…Organize the tracks in a web based searchable player.
Today, is a happy day for me. With the help of my programming team (cudos to Dan Demole and Jim Martinez for being so goddamn smart!) we are un-officially launching the Jingle Player (official release date is Oct 30th and we are having a big party at CAKE SHOP on the LES to celebrate…you are all invited…more on that soon)
OK…now for some cool news. Anyone out there who watches Food Network should tune in this weekend to catch the premiere of the Chef Jeff project which is our largest Jingle project to date. This show is sure to be a hit and we were thankful to be part of this creative process. Anyone who knows the backstory on Chef Jeff is sure to be inspired. He’s Oprah approved and really is a great person who I think will become a huge star. (thank you Adam Z and Mike M for bringing Jingle Punks onto this amazing show!)
BTW. this would not have been possible for me without the help of my amazing production coordinator Ricky Sanchez whom I highly recommend to anyone who will listen. He diligently entered thousands of song titles into a database and entered in reams of information that it should have taken a full team to do.
