On Thursday, March 31, 2011, Jingle Jared made his way uptown to the 92nd Street Y for the 2011 ASCAP New York Sessions. Hundreds of ASCAP members came to this event for a “one-day music career boost”. The scheduled events included panels with industry professional on subjects including how to “Make The Internet Work For You”, “The Sound of Success: Creative Careers In Music”, “The Path To Placements: Music In Film, TV, and Advertising” and “Master Session: Stargate & Sandy Vee”. Jingle Jared was a featured panelist for “The Path To Placements” (alongside a who’s who of experts in this space including Jim Black who supervised the Black Swan) and gave the eager audience pertinent info on how Jingle Punks was formed, how the Jingle Player works, and how licensing has affected independent musicians in the digital age. After the panel, excited ASCAP members met with Jared, EJ and the Jingle Guy to exchange info, take pictures and get swag. The whole day was a success and lived up to the slogan on the shirts the Jingle Punks passed out; “We’re not role models, we’re Rockstars!”(and we have the below pics to prove it) ….
