I Love Monsters is a band Jingle Punks loves…We recently placed them in the series Entourage and as a sign of appreciation we decided to make them our guinea pigs for a new concept we are going to call: Jingle Punks Presents: Music in Odd Places. This video was shot before their headlining show at Mercury Lounge and gives you a really good sense of their power pop personalities. Think of them as Cheap Trick meets XTC and Devo with a dash of Gang of Four mixed in for good measure.

Recently Jingle Punks formed a rogue division called the Jingle Punks All Stars featuring real life hillbillies that are setting out to cover every awesome song ever written in their own unique style. Their secret weapon is authentic Appalachian instruments and the Asian Charlie Daniels, also known as Shota – yes, that’s his real name. It’s that time of year again – the time of year where we get our face plastered amongst the pages of Billboard magazine. And being the shy, bashful company that we are, we almost kept this amazing accomplishment to ourselves… But alas, the opportunity for shameless self-promotion got the better of us, so we’ve taken to shouting it from the mountain tops!

In this, the latest issue, Billboard tapped Jingle Jared to provide some helpful advice and key insight into placing your music in advertising, television and film. We feel very honored that we’ve become one of the leading voices in this industry, and proud to help influence the careers of many independent artists – and also just a little thrilled to see our name printed up in a big fancy magazine.

Funny or Die Presents

Over a year ago HBO came to Jingle Punks asking for an authentic mariachi song for their new series “Funny or Die Presents,” a show so funny, so awesome that it cannot be aptly described in this one blog alone – but we’re sure gonna try!

Anyways… for this project Jingle Punks called in reinforcements – we enlisted the help of Barry Danielian (Tower of Power) and Ozzie Melendez (Marc Anthony) along with Jingle Jared on guitar and bass and came up with a track that’s so amazing we want to show it off to you. If you recall (and I’m sure you do!) our earlier blogs about recording the authentic Mexican band… it should be noted that they were initially brought onto the project but the client eventually opted for a different direction with Jared writing comical lyrics and Ozzie translating and singing them in Spanish. What was produced can only be summed up in a single word – magic. Check it out.

Yes… this is what Jared and Jon were screaming during their entire flight out west for the NAB Conference where they were on a multi-leg journey to promote Jingle Punks the only way they knew how… bringing out the Jingle Guy and shaking lots of hands and kissing babies.

Jingle Punks Beats Down Some Bullys

Recently Jingle Punks was asked to make some music for Season 2 of MTV’s Bully Beatdown, one of the most insane shows on television. So our friend Clyde L hit us up and told us he needed some audio stings to help move the show along and also serve notice for people who just got their a** beatdown by a pro MMA fighter. Of course for this we turned to our favorite metal singer, Phil Costello, of Stanicide / Tragedy fame to jump in and help the cause. What ensued was utter mayhem. Yes, our ears are still ringing from the noise… and our stomachs still hurt from laughter. Please watch how we created these audio stings and enjoy.

The First Ever West Coast Jingle Schmingle

“On April 22nd, 2010, New York City based internet music database, Jingle Punks, presented the first west coast Jingle Schmingle, the official launch of Jingle Punks West Coast, at The Libertine on Sunset Blvd.”

At least that’s what the paper’s said… either way, it was a absolute blast!

We’d like to send out a huge thank you to our good friends Chiddy Bang for stopping by and performing their hit single, “Opposite of Adults.” Also enough thanks can’t be given to Savvy Le Chill for providing epic massage stations.

And of course most importantly we’d like to thank all of our artists and clients for coming out and celebrating with us! It was quite a crazy night and we absolutely enjoyed catching up with a lot of our old friends, and meeting some new ones as well. Also, big shout out to the Jingle Guy who was moonwalking and freeze dancing in everyone’s face. I personally ate one of Jingle Guys’ spikes by accident several times. It was gross!

Jingle Punks on the Radio

Yes. The rumors are true. Jingle Punks did their first radio interview last weekend.

Jeff Maxwell and Rick Shoemaker from KFWB asked Dan and Jingle Jared to tell their listeners about Jingle Punks. We had a great time and they even gave us a copy of the show so we could share it with our friends and fellow Jingle Punks.

Jingle Punks Run NYC

Well not really… but we did play the NYC Half Marathon. As promised we took some videos of the Jingle Punks Allstars – probably the greatest band, maybe ever – and yes, we had a great time. So since a picture is worth a thousand words we figure a video is worth like, a bagillion! Please check out the Jingle Punks All Stars doing what they do best below – rock! And yes we do do Bar-Mitzvahs, Weddings and the occasional Bris. Call for rates.
