Jingle Jared x Jason Collett x Michael Dowse x TIFF = AWESOME

TIFF

Our resident Canadian, Jingle Jared, is headed back to Toronto soon for the Toronto International Film Festival. The 2011 TIFF boasts an exciting and diverse lineup featuring industry heavyweights, insiders, and trendsetters and will take place from September 8-15 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Jared will lend his expertise to the “In Tune: The Right Music for Your Film” panel which explores “the synergy between music and moving image” and will present new tools (like the Jingle Player) to source and license great music. They will also review the different options for building an original score within any film’s budget. Jared will be joined on the panel by Jason Collett, singer/songwriter from Broken Social Scene, Michael Dowse, Director of Goon, and moderator Kieran Roy, GM of Arts & Crafts. This should be an exciting panel and an awesome festival, we’re looking forward to it!

Jingle Punks also had a hand in the Morgan Spurlock documentary “Comic-Con: Episode IV – A Fan’s Hope” which Spurlock himself will be discussing during his keynote conversation with fellow documentarian, Nick Broomfield (Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam, Kurt & Courtney) on Monday, September 12.  JP is responsible for the full score of the film and we’re anxiously looking forward it’s release.

Jingle Punks Video Blog

The first Jingle Punks video blog of 2011 is here and it’s chock full of “firsts.” Not only does it follow Jingle Jared around as he gets ready to accept his very first ASCAP Award, but it’s also the first time I’ve been able to showcase my recently certified video editing akills. This is also going to be the first time someone mixes up the name of Men’s Wearhouse… but you’ll see. Of course there’s plenty of those “laugh out loud” moments you’re used to seeing in previous JP video blogs (I swear Jingle Jared needs his own reality show ASAP!). Anyway I’m pretty excited for you all to see how it turned out so check it out below and leave us some feedback!

Jingle Punks Apogee Duet 2 Video

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

Jingle Jared & Jeff Peters

Recently, Jingle Punks had the honor of being asked to create a song for the new Apogee Duet 2 video. Jingle Jared happily accepted and along with the Jeff Peters, a JP composer, was able to create the soundbed for the Apogee’s video in less than 24 hours. Both the song and the video came out great to say the least, and we are happy to bring you a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process that went into making the music. Check out the video below of Jingle Jared and Jeff using the brand new Apogee Duet 2 and getting their “Jingle on!” You can also read Apogee’s own Chris Lawson’s very well-written piece on how the video came together HERE.
