Jingle Punks

Jingle Punks = iTunes + Pandora for the Production Music World.

We have almost 15,000 tracks of indie rock, hip hop, punk, funk, orchestral and various types of production music which is searchable in our proprietary search engine, “The Jingle Player,” specialized technology which has several patents pending.

We are the first music database to allow producers, editors and PA’s to find music using musical and non-musical terms.  You are just as likely to find a track you need by typing in the word Green Day, Coldplay or Snoop as you are by typing cultural references such as “Oceans 11″ , “Juno” or “Wes Anderson.”  One click and one fee gives producers access to the most cost effective way of scoring original content.

In addition to the library, we have also custom composed numerous music packages (theme song, featured promos and more) for shows including “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” on Bravo, “Pawn Stars” on History and “Engaged & Underage” on MTV.  By crowd-sourcing composer services, Jingle Punks acts as a bridge between many of todays hottest composers and productions looking for a cost effective solution to their music needs.

One of the most important aspects of Jingle Punks is our technology. In 2010 we are rolling out our several amazing enhancements that will make searching for music, using music in media and administering music much easier. The system that will save productions companies time and money.

One final note: Our unique blend of services and content have garnered us some great press in various industry trades and business publications including Variety and Business Week.

Real Housewives of Atlanta

The night begins

The night begins

Jingle Punks should feel proud today.  We were lucky enough to have our music in this season of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Ethan, Dan and I went to MPE to watch the first episode with the folks who created the show. The party was pretty fun, we drank some champagne and got laughed at because our new business cards have um…our pics on em… which some people found creepy and other folks found hilarious.  Either way it was a great ice breaker and we met some really cool folks.  Check out some of the snaps from this night.

After jingle schmingling for a few hours we watched the first episode which was amazing.  Ep #1 ended with a classic scene about how customer service these days is a dying trend.  We hope we never have a scene like this in our offices and we learned a great lesson by watching how not to run a company.

This clip is classic. Enjoy!

What Would You Do?

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Yes.  It’s an age old question.  What would you do for a Klondike Bar?  Jingle Punks digs deep and tries to answer this question in a series of new spots for Klondike which we have heard are airing on Comedy Central in conjunction with Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter’s new series.  You can check out the first of 4 here.

Video JingleBlogs are here!

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Well, for some time now our friends and even some of our clients, Mom’s and Dad’s have been asking Dan and I to document some of our day to day activities so they could get a sense of what it is we actually do here at Jingle Punks all day.

These first videos will not make anything clear except for the fact that everyday is completely different for us.

Some days we are recording with street musicians in Brooklyn…

Other days we are in LA taking rapid fire meetings to get our roster of artists placed in shows…

Jingle Jared Goes to Mexico…

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Today was a fun one.

It started off with news that a promo we did for History Channel had gone to air, featuring Ryan Star of Warner Music.

Next up, was music for the MTV Movie Awards which airs this weekend.  We are psyched to be part of this because rumor has it that this year its going to be a really good one with some much needed comedy infused antics from Andy Samberg.

By the time I was ready for lunch I had already squeezed so much music into my day that was spent.  Before I could get my lunch down I noticed in my ical I had 20 minutes to be in Brooklyn to record at Shabby Road studios for an HBO project.  This project turned out to be the highlight of my day, if not the year thus far.  I was asked to make some authentic Mexican music for a show open and was struggling to get that authentic sound.  Then, last week, as I was about to give up, I found a Mexican folk band busking on the street and got their info.  They agreed to come do an impromptu session of traditional folk songs for this and I would in turn produce a CD of music for them to keep. The deal was pretty sweet for all involved and I am very happy with the music we recorded and the overall vibe of the day.

Here are some pics and various recordings we made.

Underdog to Wonderdog

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Jingle Punks was chosen by Sharp Entertainment (the people who brought us The Fabulous Life series) to do a theme song for a new show on Animal Planet. (see press release and show open below)

There’s nothing more heartbreaking than looking into the sad, helpless eyes of an abandoned stray dog that hasn’t been adopted from a shelter. Animal Planet’s new series UNDERDOG TO WONDERDOG takes that same stray shelter pup and turns its four-legged life completely around.  Our very own Doggie Wonder Team comes to the rescue when they snatch that dog from its formerly miserable existence and transplant it into its very own Cinderella fairytale!

Each stray will be rescued and rehabilitated, trained, primped, pampered and finally placed into a loving home that’s been specifically designed and decorated to fit its personal doggie needs—including a custom-designed dog house from our Canine Carpenter!

UNDERDOG TO WONDERDOG is taking the pet makeover to unbelievable new heights and going to the ultimate limits to help these down-on-their-luck pups hit the lottery with total life-changing makeovers from head to tail.

It aired Jan 3 at 8pm and will be in primetime in this slot for the run of the show.

Danger Zone

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

So the past couple weeks for me have been nothing less than insane…As many of you know, Jingle Punks launched an online search database for use in TV shows, commercials and films. We have spent countless hours taking meetings with MTV, FUSE, FOX, SPIKE ect and have spent even more hours working out the kinks of the player.

Fortunately, its not always all work and no play for us…For example, during CMJ my friend D.A. from Chester French found time to swing by Jingle Punks to do an in house shoot for their video blog (see below). We also found time to have one last Group Sounds show. We sold out The Cake shop on NYC’s Lower East side (see pics here) and had a crazy ass pre-halloween bash. Last but not least, I even found time to record a cover of the Kenny Loggins classic “Danger Zone” with my friend Phil (who happens to be one of the funniest and most talented metal singers of all time).

Launch of the JinglePlayer 1.0 and Chef Jeff Project

Friday, October 10th, 2008

After 8 years of composing music for TV, film and commercial projects I have finally found time to do what I said I would from the beginning…Organize the tracks in a web based searchable player.

Today, is a happy day for me. With the help of my programming team (cudos to Dan Demole and Jim Martinez for being so goddamn smart!) we are un-officially launching the Jingle Player (official release date is Oct 30th and we are having a big party at CAKE SHOP on the LES to celebrate…you are all invited…more on that soon)

OK…now for some cool news. Anyone out there who watches Food Network should tune in this weekend to catch the premiere of the Chef Jeff project which is our largest Jingle project to date. This show is sure to be a hit and we were thankful to be part of this creative process. Anyone who knows the backstory on Chef Jeff is sure to be inspired. He’s Oprah approved and really is a great person who I think will become a huge star. (thank you Adam Z and Mike M for bringing Jingle Punks onto this amazing show!)

That’s all for now.

BTW. this would not have been possible for me without the help of my amazing production coordinator Ricky Sanchez whom I highly recommend to anyone who will listen. He diligently entered thousands of song titles into a database and entered in reams of information that it should have taken a full team to do.
