Things You Can’t Do in LA
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010The First Ever West Coast Jingle Schmingle
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010“On April 22nd, 2010, New York City based internet music database, Jingle Punks, presented the first west coast Jingle Schmingle, the official launch of Jingle Punks West Coast, at The Libertine on Sunset Blvd.”
At least that’s what the paper’s said… either way, it was a absolute blast!
We’d like to send out a huge thank you to our good friends Chiddy Bang for stopping by and performing their hit single, “Opposite of Adults.” Also enough thanks can’t be given to Savvy Le Chill for providing epic massage stations.
And of course most importantly we’d like to thank all of our artists and clients for coming out and celebrating with us! It was quite a crazy night and we absolutely enjoyed catching up with a lot of our old friends, and meeting some new ones as well. Also, big shout out to the Jingle Guy who was moonwalking and freeze dancing in everyone’s face. I personally ate one of Jingle Guys’ spikes by accident several times. It was gross!
Ok… here are some pics for now. More coming soon – enjoy!
Jingle Punks do LA
Wednesday, February 10th, 2010The LA trip started off with a bang. I started out Friday night at the EMI family and friends event where I saw my friend Will who plays in MGMT. We know each other from NYC and he was in LA with his fiance for Grammy stuff, as soon as I bumped into him he shot me a look as if to say “uh oh, Jingle Jared is in LA, this might get ugly”. The night did turn out pretty epic all things considered… I met my guitar hero Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine. Met Katy Perry, who I think is a pretty sharp songwriter, and I also met Perez Hilton who is single handedly responsible for decreasing office productivity across the world… which I told him.
Saturday morning I worked off the night before with a nice walk around the Getty Center with Sexy Joe. That night we headed out to the Primary Wave Grammy Bash which ended up being a really, really fun event. I rolled to the party with my sister, Sam, who ended up acting as my defacto publicist and somehow convinced many of the celebs there to pose for pics with me while holding up Jingle Punks schwag…ha! If it were not for her I may have spent the entire party in the corner twiddling my thumbs. That night we ended up going to another unsanctioned Grammy thing at My House, a club that was pretty fun… but what made it even more fun was a another friend of mine from out of town decided to throw down his card and spend almost 10k in one night there. Ha! Can’t argue with fun like that right? I’m usually not one for those types of places, but I’m also not stupid, so I went along for the ride.
Our night ended at the W Hotel in Hollywood where I bumped into the girl from “Precious” and asked if she wanted to party with the Jingle Punks. She said NO. I said why not? She said cause you and your friends seem really stupid. Go figure.
Anyhow, after spending some time at the W After Party we got word of yet another party happening in the Hollywood Hills, so the whole crew descended en masse in a fleet of rental cars provide by my aforementioned out of town friend. Once we got there I wandered around looking for a place to settle and ended up walking straight into a glass door that I thought was an entry way to the porch… the whole room laughed as I bounced back from the glass. Luckily I didn’t hurt myself.
At this point I realized it was time to call it a night…it was 5:30 am and I needed to get some sleep if I was going to go the actual Grammys and all the parties afterwards. I got back to my sisters place at around 5:45 and realized I had given Sam my keys to hold onto so I wouldn’t lose them. In my head my only option was to bang on her door until she woke up, which I did, for a good 20 minutes until her neighbor came out of his place in underpants, socks and no shirt pointing a gun at me and asking me to identify myself. After I pooped my shorts I told him I would figure out another way to get into my sister’s place. To compound the problem I also lost my cell phone so calling was out of the question. My only other choice was to throw a hail mary and see if she would answer the front door buzzer. Which she did… I got in and went to sleep on my inflatable bed that Sam so graciously let me sleep on during my stay.
Sunday… this was a tough day. I didn’t really feel like doing much early on so I took a nap till the Grammy’s were over, then Ant, Sam and I rolled to the W Hotel, which was hosting the EMI Grammy party. All in all the night was a far more chill evening than the previous night, but not without it’s share of full on surreal moments…
First off I saw Slash, who I hung with a few times in NYC, but this time around his handlers threw a pick and blocked me from talking with him. I yelled “Slash, you’ve changed!” then walked away sad… ha! I tried easing my pain by making small talk with Russell Brand who told me that he found me to be very offensive, but memorable. So I got that going for me. The fact that I was rolling in a Jingle Punks T Shirt with red bandana wrapped around my head to a semi formal event didn’t help matters much. I was also advised by B Real from Cypress Hill that technically I was wearing gang colors and should be careful walking around the streets of LA like that… big oops.
So basically that was the crazy fun part of the week I had in LA. The rest of the time was spent going from production company to production company helping to spread the word about Jingle Punks in a much larger way. My time in LA was wonderfully beneficial though as I was able to meet some of our favorite clients and large music companies, all of which had amazing things to say about our company which was very nice. We hope to be back in LA soon to catch up with all the great new friends we made this time around!
And now I shall regale you with pictures from my trip to Los Angeles
We’re baaack
Thursday, August 20th, 2009A lot of people have been asking us for more video updates because our first ones were watched by a whopping 98 people….c’mon you gotta re-tweet this if you want us to take the time to make some videos.
Anyways, if a picture is worth 1000 words than this video is worth at least 10,000 words. So on that note. No more words. Just click to watch.
Video JingleBlogs are here!
Friday, June 26th, 2009Well, for some time now our friends and even some of our clients, Mom’s and Dad’s have been asking Dan and I to document some of our day to day activities so they could get a sense of what it is we actually do here at Jingle Punks all day.
These first videos will not make anything clear except for the fact that everyday is completely different for us.
Some days we are recording with street musicians in Brooklyn…
Other days we are in LA taking rapid fire meetings to get our roster of artists placed in shows…
Jingle Punks is off to LA
Monday, June 15th, 2009Hey Jingle Punks,
The continuing adventures of Jingle Jared and Jingle Dan keep on rolling. Every week seems to bring something new and exciting. This past week alone not one but two new shows debuted. Z Rock which is our first series for IFC premiered this past Sunday and we are really happy to be part of this hilarious and well written show.
The other show we provided music for was A&E’s much anticipated Hammer Time.
This show is pretty much self explanatory and I am sure we will add this one to our ever growing list of guilty pleasure viewing.
Big thanks to Greg D at 3 Ball for getting us involved in Hammer Time and a much thanks to Mark Mark Productions who took a chance on us early on and has been placing us in tons of new shows.
All of this excitement is happening just in time for Dan and I’s next jaunt out to LA. Last time, we met Diddy and Tila Tequila, how we gonna top ourselves this time…By meeting Erkel and Brett Michaels? Who knows, but I am sure we will have som great stories this time around.
If any LA Jingle Punks have shows between June 22-25 while we are in LA, send the dates our way and we will make it a point to come see you.
Jingle Punking is hard work
Tuesday, November 18th, 2008So, I have had a busy week Spent 5 days in LA meeting with composers, labels and various TV people to spread the word about the Jingle Player. Did 14 meetings in the course of 4 of the days and felt like I was on amazing race. Had my GPS bouncing me around town and luckily everything got done and I met some cool folks along the way. One of those cool people was,Evan Taubenfeld, he’s a super talented musician and seems to have created a great brand around himself as well…you may know him as the guitarist for Avril Lavigne (he also produced and wrote for her).
It was also good to link up with my old friend Stu Stone. He has become a major player in the music scene creating beats and producing for all sorts of artists including American Idol alumns…
Back in NYC now and playing catch up. First order of business upon arrival here was was to log the back catalogue of ever growing tracks into the Jingle Player. We are now up to 3000 songs and have recently landed some sick bands including:
-The Izzys
-Bloody Social
-Hidden Tape Recorders
-Quitzow
-Setting Sun
-Siwat
Eagle & Talon
-Troy_Lund
-Kurt_Feldhun
-Valeze
Next order of business, was going to see more bands to get in the library. I had heard some amazing things about a band called Lizzie Trullie , so I went to check her out last night at Santo’s Party House. Was great show and I suggest people check out her music. Hopefully we’ll be getting her in the mix shortly, seems like she has some good buzz and a really good management team in place.
That’s all for now. Some big news coming up for Jingle Punks this weekend, but I’ve been sworn to secrecy on this topic. The only hint i can give, is this…

Shit…I’ve said to much.
