Video JingleBlogs are here!

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Well, for some time now our friends and even some of our clients, Mom’s and Dad’s have been asking Dan and I to document some of our day to day activities so they could get a sense of what it is we actually do here at Jingle Punks all day.

These first videos will not make anything clear except for the fact that everyday is completely different for us.

Some days we are recording with street musicians in Brooklyn…

Other days we are in LA taking rapid fire meetings to get our roster of artists placed in shows…

Jingle Punks in AM New York

Today Dan and I touched down in LA for a series of meetings and as we landed we were told that AM New York ran a piece on our company.  The only thing sad about the timing of this is that Dan and I wish we could be in NYC the day it went to press so we could ride the subways and be treated like local celebs…haha.  Oh well, we can’t have our cake and eat it too.

Seriously though, check out the piece and keep helping us spread the word, this is just the beginning and we are always trying to find new and cool ways to get our artists placed in shows from around the media universe.

More updates from our LA jaunt coming soon.

Jingle Punks is off to LA

Hey Jingle Punks,

Z Rock on IFC

The continuing adventures of Jingle Jared and Jingle Dan keep on rolling. Every week seems to bring something new and exciting. This past week alone not one but two new shows debuted.  Z Rock which is our first series for IFC premiered this past Sunday and we are really happy to be part of this hilarious and well written show.

The other show we provided music for was A&E’s much anticipated Hammer Time.

Stop...Hammer Time!

This show is pretty much self explanatory and I am sure we will add this one to our ever growing list of guilty pleasure viewing.

Big thanks to Greg D at 3 Ball for getting us involved in Hammer Time and a much thanks to Mark Mark Productions who took a chance on us early on and has been placing us in tons of new shows.

All of this excitement is happening just in time for Dan and I’s next jaunt out to LA.  Last time, we met Diddy and Tila Tequila, how we gonna top ourselves this time…By meeting Erkel and Brett Michaels?  Who knows, but I am sure we will have som great stories this time around.

If any LA Jingle Punks have shows between June 22-25 while we are in LA, send the dates our way and we will make it a point to come see you.

Jingle Jared Goes to Mexico…

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Today was a fun one.

It started off with news that a promo we did for History Channel had gone to air, featuring Ryan Star of Warner Music.

Next up, was music for the MTV Movie Awards which airs this weekend.  We are psyched to be part of this because rumor has it that this year its going to be a really good one with some much needed comedy infused antics from Andy Samberg.

By the time I was ready for lunch I had already squeezed so much music into my day that was spent.  Before I could get my lunch down I noticed in my ical I had 20 minutes to be in Brooklyn to record at Shabby Road studios for an HBO project.  This project turned out to be the highlight of my day, if not the year thus far.  I was asked to make some authentic Mexican music for a show open and was struggling to get that authentic sound.  Then, last week, as I was about to give up, I found a Mexican folk band busking on the street and got their info.  They agreed to come do an impromptu session of traditional folk songs for this and I would in turn produce a CD of music for them to keep. The deal was pretty sweet for all involved and I am very happy with the music we recorded and the overall vibe of the day.

Here are some pics and various recordings we made.

Guest Blog from producer of new IFC Series (Inner Rich’s)

Last night was our final day of shooting our IFC series, “Funnel of Darkness” in Oklahoma and the scene called for a super awesome party.  So we got a 400 acre farm overlooking a river, with wild horses, set a huge bonfire, got 200 beers, several bottles of whiskey, tons of meat to grill, a large amount of fireworks, some guitars, and a gaggle of cute girls.  In between scenes, right before the reverse shot that I was supposed to be in, I decided to pee off the edge of the farm above the river.  I was pretty drunk at this point.  The ledge of the farm was dirt, and it was pretty clear that over time, chunks of it had fallen into the river.  I walked to about 5 feet from the edge, beer in hand, and started to undo my belt, while the party raged in the background.  Right before I could get my jeans unbuttoned, the earth gave way and I tumbled, head over foot, thirty feet down the cliff, landing just before the water.  while I was falling, I remember thinking to myself that it was pretty awesome, and when I landed at the bottom, conscious, I yelled out in victory.  Also, my beer remained in my hand the whole time.  Now, nobody knew that I fell off the edge, so I had to yell a few times before my boys came to the rescue.  They helped me up the cliff, my body and face covered in blood and dirt, and I couldn’t stop yammering about how totally sweet the fall was.  In the end, I got some cute girl to take care of me and feed me drinks, while fireworks went off in the background.  I couldn’t shoot my last scene.

So now my back and arms are scabbed up, and my face looks like I got in a fight.  I also fucked up my ankle pretty good.  But in the end it was worth it, cause now I know nothing can kill me.

Every now and then Jingle Punks gets to work on some really amazing and funny projects. Here is something called The Potty Project for Huggies. Its pretty self explanatory. If you are a parent in the midst of potty training this is something that may interest you. If you are not a parent potty training your little one, you should check this out anyways for the sweet jams!

Aside from the potty training music we sometimes also are called upon to make some good old fashioned rock n roll. In this case Jingle Punks was asked to do music for this sweet series of car ads in Canada. In this spot we feature a band some of you may know called Generals & Majors. Enjoy!

Jingle Punks & Huggies

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Jingle Punks was selected to be the sole music provider for Huggies upcoming 12 webisode series.  We’re excited to be working with Punched In the Head Productions on this.

It’s not the first time the Punks were tapped by America’s favorite baby brand… Last year, the Huggies Cleanteam Campaign used Jingle Punks music for a spot that was played in front of all PG and G rated films during the first quarter of ’08 and continues to run on networks such as Disney, Nickelodeon and PBS.

Jingle Punks take LA!!!

Not really…but it makes a good headline?

OK. If anyone caught the premiere of The Hills last night they were probably asking themselves many, many questions.  ”Why is Heidi so smart?”  ”Why is her boyfriend so handsome?” And possibly…”Why is there a ton of Jingle Punks tracks being played non-stop during the live component of the premiere?”  OK, you may not have asked yourself any of these questions…but facts are facts and we can thank MTV (specifically Amanda and Kyle at MTV) for choosing some juicy jams to include in last nights festivities.

Here is a link to the madness… There were nearly 30 scenes that used cuts from the library (including tracks from Group Sounds and Generals & Majors).
