• - Ruby On Rails Developer

  We're looking for a dynamic and talented web developer to make an immediate impact and contribution to the team. We’re a unique blend of entrepreneurs and creatives that have broken more rules than we’ve followed. Our main business is music, but technology is what gives us our competitive advantage.

  We are seeking a talented developer with web technologies experience. This full time, on-site, salaried position will work directly under the Senior Developer and CTO. We offer a fun, fast-paced environment and the opportunity to grow with a funded, successful early-stage company.

  Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience in software development
  • 1+ year of Ruby on Rails development ( at least Ruby 1.8.7, Rails 3.0.x, & MySQL 5 )
  • Strong understanding of web standards, front-end web programming, and modern client-side engineering
  • Significant experience with Test Driven Development
  • Experience using version control
  • Experience with Capistrano (and general familiarity with deployments)
  • Understanding of Cloud Computing services and associated technologies
  • Enjoys working in a startup and the freedom -- and chaos! -- associated with it

  Stronger Candidates Will Have Experience With

  • Git ~> 1.7
  • Haml 3
  • Advanced JavaScript knowledge, preferably with jQuery
  • RSpec, Factory Girl, & Fake Web
  • PHP 5.3
  • Provisioning and managing Amazon Web Services (S3 & EC2)
  • Automated testing & continuous integration servers (such as Cruise Control or Hudson)
  • Experience with database optimization
  • Familiarity with sophistcated JavaScript MVC frameworks ( preferably Backbone.js )
  • Basic sysadmin work (monitoring changes via 'tail' and 'watch', determining server health with 'top' , creating symlinks, restarting services, etc.)

• - Web / Graphic Designer

  Are you a talented and creative designer? Do you have a strong understanding of technology concepts and how to convey them visually? Jingle Punks needs you!

  As Jingle Punks Graphic Designer, you’ll work with various departments to design solutions for our site as well as a number of interactive products. While you will mainly focus on web design, you will touch all aspects of our business including web, print and merchandise.

  Responsibilities

  • Evolve the Jingle Punks brand/style in a digital space; maintaining the quality of design throughout all projects
  • Complete website redesign
  • Designing microsites, landing pages, email templates and other graphics
  • Combine design theory and take into consideration content, navigational structure and usability issues to create a powerful and integrated experience
  • Produce visual design, wireframes, site maps and other forms of interaction design documents
  • Stay on top of current trends in the digital space
  • Consider various input from departments & transform it into an optimal digital solution. This includes...
    • working with our Creative, Music, & Artist Departments to ensure client & artist needs are met
    • working with the Software Development team to ensure the interaction design and translates into fully functioning interactive experiences

  Required Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as visual design, multimedia design, and/or interaction design
  • A solid and creative on-line portfolio showcasing at least 3 innovative concepts and interactive design solutions
  • Solid working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop through CS4
  • Experience applying theories related to color schemes, use of space, text placement, usability and visual flow to user-centric interfaces
  • Excellent team player with persuasive communication and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of the challenges & opportunities in interactive design
  • Ideally, an understanding of HTML, CSS and web browser capabilities (emphasis on HTML 5 and CSS 3)
