The Jingle Schmingle

There are parties, and then there are Schmingles. Jingle Schmingles, to be exact. We threw one during our recent trip to Los Angeles, and what a Schmingle it was: over 300 guests were in the house, as was Viva Le Chill, providing free backrubs to those partygoers in need, Philly rappers Chiddy Bang, the Jingle Guy, and noted film star Ron Jeremy. Now that’s a party. And a big shoutout to Gordon and Samantha, who filmed the Schmingle and provided red carpet coverage for Real TV Films – thanks guys!

PromaxBDA 2010

Here at Jingle Punks, we’re gearing up for PromaxBDA 2010 the only way we know how—by loading in our gear, plugging in, and remembering the chords to “Don’t Stop Believing.” That’s right: the Jingle All-Stars, fresh off a (technically) standing room only gig next to the USS Intrepid during this year’s NYC Half-Marathon, plan to continue their rocking ways during the June 22-24th Promax convention. We’re inviting any and all TV execs, music supervisors, Jingle artists, and well, anyone, to our first All-Star Jam—get onstage with us and rock out! And if you need A/V proof of our cred, check the video below.

Canada

The Jingle Empire is going international: we’ve just completed a week in Canada—Toronto, specifically—meeting with friends and clients old and new and setting up operations. Given the cutting edge talent and opportunities that exist north of the border, we couldn’t be more excited to get to work. And it was a thrill to get some love from the National Post, which ran a profile on Jingle Punks on the eve of our expansion into the Canadian market. Very cool.

Hey kid, you wanna be in pictures? Totally. Also, that’s the name of the panel on which our CEO Jared Gutstadt will be speaking on June 15 at the Billboard/AdWeek Music & Advertising Conference in New York. Good timing, as Jingle Punks gets more involved with placements for film trailers: recent placements include the trailers for Jessica Alba’s upcoming An Invisible Sign Of My Own and envirodoc Houston, We Have A Problem.

Demien -- Lovesick
This track is a favorite here in the JP offices. An up beat tune reminiscent of a Bobby McFerrin track with poppy yet simple instrumentals makes it an easy fit for commercials or TV.

Bleach -- Prince Shelter
Bleach delivers a Moby/Hotel Costes electronic track that lets you get lost in the dreamy vocal sample. Like something out of Broken Down Palace, use this track to give your viewers a momentary escape.

Alexis Babini -- Take It From Me
In Babini’s own words: “Yes, my music is hook-based and catchy, but there's also a sense of honesty I try to convey with my songs." Nuff’ said…

Wellington Lora -- Just Dance
As the title implies, Just Dance is all Lady GaGa with out the price tag... An energetic tune perfect for injecting some cool into your commercial or TV soundtrack.

Arts and Kraphts Galleries -- Ramona Forever
This sunny jingle evokes happiness and trust. A great tune for a bank, or insurance company or any commercial centered around family or the home.

Charlene Lite -- Saving You
Charlene Lite is done with you and she means it. It’s too bad because she’s got some serious sex appeal on this sultry and soulful track that oozes with anger and honesty. Someone else is going to have to pick up your mess now and it ain’t gonna be her.

Joel Dean -- Its Ours
Joel Dean brings us a grimy hip hop track that hits hard! Victoriously proclaiming “its ours!”. These guys aren’t playing around, your hip hop selection will be this track!

Pianocentric -- Better Now
If Ben Folds had a musically inclined sister, she would be the lead in Painocentric. In “Better Now”, this group brings us a great piano pop track with Vanessa Carlton vocals. It’s a keeper.

51 50s -- Heartbleeder
As one reviewer gently put: "This lot are The Kaiser Chiefs … with added balls!" and another "They swagger like hell bent hedonists" - Matt Dyson, NME. We think that about sum’s it up, this track rocks!

Jive Ass Sleepers -- Swing in the Name of Love
Jive Ass Sleepers brings us a classic jazz track that is NOT to be slept on. An upbeat ambient song that is perfect for any piano bar or lounge scene.

NAB

How was our trip to Vegas for NAB? Fine. We made our flight with loads of time to spare, got lots of sleep, the Jingle Guy didn’t stir up trouble on the convention floor… OH WAIT, IT WAS THE OPPOSITE OF ALL THAT. We barely made our flight, Jared managed only two hours of sleep the first night, and, in lieu of maintaining a booth, we sprang the Jingle Guy on an unsuspecting floor. WTF moments ensued.
